I'm in USA. I'm returning to Thailand. I'm trying to decide whether to fly in on a tourist visa and convert to OA visa, or to get OA visa in the US. Can anyone relate some experience about this?

I want to share my experience with my DTV application process in Singapore. I applied for a workcation visa as an S-pass holder. As I couldn't find much information about Singapore and came across several comments mentioning that the process in Singapore required too many documents, and I can confirm that it really is.

Jan 3rd (Fri) - Submitted my application

Jan 6th (Mon) - They asked for additional documents because there weren't available upload sessions when I first submitted them.

Jan 7th (Tue) - They called me to request more proof of my residence in Thailand, including the owner's ID, lease agreement, invitation letter from my friend currently residing there and his passport.

Jan 9th (Thu) - Pending Approval

Jan 15th (Wed) - Returned to “Pending document check”

Late evening on Jan 15th, called me to resubmit my S-Pass, despite already submitting it.

On Jan 16th, I emailed them to check on my application status as my travel date is approaching. An hour later, my visa was approved.

I hope this helps those planning to submit in Singapore. Also BIGGG thanks to everyone who helped with my questions in this forum. 🫵🙏

The flight I need out of Thailand decreases in price by 10K (baht) 1 day after my 180 days is up. If I exit 1 day after my DTV visa stamp am I likely to lose the visa? I don't mind paying the 500b fee, though don't want my visa cancelled at Suwannabpoom. Anyone have similar experience to this? Thank

I got the DTV from Paris in less than 20 days with no additional request! Got a lot of tips from here so I wanted to share:

- I carefully followed the instructions on the Paris embassy website. Each embassy got slightly different requests, just follow them carefully

- Less is more. Don't explain or give more than what they ask, easier for you and for them

Documents shared:

- I'm an auto-entrepreuneur (freelance) I wrote a letter in French + English to explain my activity and shared a link to my website

- Proof of address in France I shared a mobile phone invoice

- Bank statement only showing the correct balance (over 15 000 EUR) no need for 3 months statement etc...

- Proof of registration of my self-employment issued by INSEE in France

- Invoice from one of my client + proof of payment received in my business account

- Screenshot of the “About” page from my website showcasing my activity, including my full name, first name, and photo

It was quick and easy, don't overthink it just provide EXACTLY what they ask at your local embassy!

I just wanted to go ahead and share my experience. I have been living in Thailand for two years now initially just doing boarder runs and then on a 1 year student visa. My student visa ended in September 2024. I did a boarder run to Malaysia and came back on on a 60 day exempt and extended another 30 days. I left Thailand December 20th. I applied for my DTV visa in Vietnam was approved under the workcation category. I entered Thailand and was denied entry initially. I had an interview/interegation my Thai language was tested. I do know quite of bit of Thai but didn't understand some of the questions asked and ultimately failed my interview. They asked for my outgoing ticket I didn't have one I bought a ticket on "OnwardTicket" that I have used in the past with no issues. This time didn't work and was denied entry all together. After my case being transferred to another officer and almost deported. I paid an additional 20k baht and was finally let in the country. Don't know if there was really an issue or just wanted bribe money. But Just thought I'd give a warning to those in similar situations.

Hello everyone. I see a lot of people asking about a bank account in Thailand.

If you are on a DTV visa it can be difficult to get a bank account.

I have been using an app called deep pocket and have had no issues.

You can pay rent with it. Any place that has a QR code option you can pay.

You can transfer to most Thai banks.

I think this can be useful for some people.

Edit. I forgot to mention you get a Thai card which is useful for online purchases. Thai netflix or other similar services.
