I’d call a visa service and ask them for assistance. Might be one of those special cases I’d want assistance with.

Yes I understand they are different but I have had student visa friends be told no and rejected only to be approved across the street. Same for a friend on a tourist visa going bank to bank in the mall. 🤷‍♂️ Might take a little more time and effort but some people do prefer to try. I wasn’t supposed to be able to get residency certificate and motorcycle green book all done on my initial tourist visa either but it all worked out.

nah just need to keep trying. I know plenty of folks opening bank amounts on student visas and tourist visas.

@Tim *****
my wife never filed one the last time we ran to Cambodia for Angkor wat but i got my residency certificate which included getting one at immigration to register my motorcycle. We went to do our extension she got hit with the 1600 baht fine, which is no problem but she has anxiety so it wasn’t fun. So now I have the ability to file for us both every single time we enter Thailand immediately without having to rely on anyone else

I used tm30.io and got the passport and green book and rental contract from my landlord as well as a residency certificate. Everything accepted through the online portal, tm30 downloaded and used at immigration in Bangkok.

if youre American the treaty of amity makes certain things easier but more hoops. Worth looking into though
