I would suggest hiring an agent to get this for you. Thai systems don‘t cope well with situations that don’t fit forms and procedures. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done, but a fixer will know who to get your request in front of to make it happen.

Just so you know, it is absolutely possible in Thailand to have one visa but different conditions for different subcategories. For instance, the LTR visa has a wealthy global citizen category that is allowed to work, and a wealthy pensioner category that isn’t allowed to work. The fact that they’re all called DTV does not mean anything in terms of rules carried over between them. It’s better to think of DTV as “descriptor for a few new visas all launched at the same time.”

I’d use it as an excuse to take a couple of days in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. For KL, there are flights every hour for most of the day, so you can get back if your airline rebooks you on a new flight, and the flights are cheap.

You may find it just won’t work without an active roaming plan even if your regular plan seems like it should support it. I found that recently with AIS.

Vinson Dynes I’m not on DTV myself, but the TDAC doesn’t ask your visa class, so I don’t think that’s why the original poster is having trouble validating - there’s nothing to cross reference it against. It does have a field for visa number but it‘s optional and not dynamic.

I did it yesterday giving Thailand as country of residence. Maybe try again from a different device?

You would be best to enquire with an Australian marriage celebrant for current document requirements. You will need one anyway, so you could just get in touch with one now.

The visa fee is forfeit. They make it very clear on the application that you have to check carefully for spelling names, etc etc and there are no refunds for your mistake. Your tuition fee is completely separate and subject to the providers terms. They may offer cancellation, but there’s nothing to stop you from applying again. It’s not like you can’t come, you just have to start again.

It can be challenging to arrange this if you don’t speak Thai. We installed two shower heaters in rooms without existing wiring - the way we did it was by buying the heaters at HomePro and bookinga “survey” (basically an assessment and quote - you have to pay a small fee for that) from Chang’s at Homepro. Then they emailed us a quote, which we accepted and paid, then they came and did it. Have a couple of thousand baht on you on the day - they’re allowed to charge you on the spot (with your agreement) for some small extras, we paid for dedicated circuit breakers etc.

Anonymous participant 633 Agreed. Even if the parents flights can’t be changed, an add on flight to KL, Singapore, or other nearby places is very cheap.
