Dog and cat hotels are more commonly used here than in home pet sitters. There are heaps of them around the airport.

It only covers urgent care and repatriation, but one option is travel insurance for the first year (and self pay for routine care). (Do check policy wording about how they view residence versus travel though, this varies). That way you can take your time and talk to brokers etc to try to make the best choice. One important question is how sure you are about Thailand versus other countries. If you think you might go on to another country then you might want an international policy, or you could get a local one if you only plan to be in Thailand.

AI is completely unreliable for Thai expat formalities, because too many people either (a) throw around uninformed rubbish or (b) say things for one situation that don’t apply to another without explicitly saying what the limits are, and AI can’t tell the difference. It just forms assumptions (or rather language predictions) based on what the mass of content says. If AI says you can do something and all the humans living there say you can’t, the humans are right.

on starting specials for a while from big clinic chains, the sort you find in shopping malls (Gangnam is one). Wegovy is a lot cheaper if that works for you, 4000thb a month is possible.

Graeme Drake Out of curiosity, where are you buying low dose aspirin? I have only been able to get it from Medisafe, which is great but a big trip for me. It seems to be very hard to get here, pharmacies all talk vaguely about regulations.

You can call Canberra embassy and enquire once the fourteen days they mention in their pop up has passed. They will just give you a canned answer along the lines of “it’s in the queue and it will be seen when it’s your turn” or whatever, but both times we have done that, the application progressed the same or next day. I think making contact does prompt them to look even though they don’t say so.

This won’t be a popular take I imagine, but people really need to take heed of what’s being said here. He says it straight out here, Thailand doesn’t want people who don’t really qualify to settle here, settling here by stealth. They view that as doing the wrong thing. They view that as an abuse of process and an abuse of their generosity in letting you come here. If you want to really live here, get a visa designed and intended for really living here. Hint: That isn’t the one that makes you leave on a regular basis and doesn’t let you have a bank account or buy a car.

Eric DugganYou don’t have to have a printer. PCs have a print to PDF option in the print menu. It turns it into a plain pdf like if you printed then scanned it. That file can also be further manipulated by a PDF editor if needed.

I would suggest hiring an agent to get this for you. Thai systems don‘t cope well with situations that don’t fit forms and procedures. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done, but a fixer will know who to get your request in front of to make it happen.
