Is it me or are people looking for ways of getting around the immigration laws of Thailand? Yes some IOs at certain crossing are "forgiving" etc. , but it seems to me a small few just think they can skirt the law one way or another. This is what raises red flags for anyone trying to extend or renew a visa.
Why do I see these simple questions asked over and over. Go on line to the thai immigration site and educate yourself. Than, if your confused and thats pretty normal, ask some questions to verify. But to me, simply posting "what do I do" without first making some effort to see what is needed is lazy and assumes that someone else is here to hold your hand and be your mommy.
Note to self. Great idea to live in Thailand where few expats live. Phetchabun is quite, safe and queue free at immigration. Ok, maybe you get 4-5 ahead of you.😁
I have come to Thailand for 9yrs with a 30 day entry (USA) and extended 30 days. This year I got a 60 day tourist and will get a 30 day extension. My IO at BKK after flipping thru my pages of thai stamps said in perfect english, "welcome back Sean".
