I heard about a possibility to get 7 -10 days extra extension on the tourist Visa.

Do you know anythings about this?

As the Immigration is closed until 17 th I ask here..

I have already extended my tourist Visa with 30 days and will need to stay at least one more week. Do you know if the give extra days and in that case how the procedure is?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus is that once you've exhausted your 30-day tourist visa extension in Thailand, your options are limited. If you apply for further extension after the standard period, you would receive an 'extension denied' stamp in your passport, allowing for an additional 7 days to leave the country. However, this 'grace period' starts from the day you apply for the extension, not necessarily providing extra days if you wait until the last hour to apply. Additionally, immigration rules can vary by location, and it's important to consult your local immigration office for specifics. Using the 7-day extension should be a last resort, as relying on it may negatively impact your immigration history.

Is it me or are people looking for ways of getting around the immigration laws of Thailand? Yes some IOs at certain crossing are "forgiving" etc. , but it seems to me a small few just think they can skirt the law one way or another. This is what raises red flags for anyone trying to extend or renew a visa.

the rules are set up the way they are. Skirt them at your leisure. It affects nobody else.

Spot on. People know the rules and if they dont they should have found them out before the last day. Sure sime people gave events/ accidents etc they couldn't have forseen but so many just leave it too late

Don’t go down that route, the 7-days extension should only be used as an absolut last option.

It should only be used as a absolute last resort, if something happends, as a flight getting canceled, accidents, denied access etc.

You have known since you got the 30 day extension, which day you had to leave Thailand, so Immigration being closed, isn’t an excuse to stay longer.

You being sloppy about your travel arrangements, is not a sufficient reason.

That’s why, it isn’t mentioned anywhere at the visa pages of the Thai embassies.

It is absolutely not something you wan’t to have in your immigration history.

why don't you want it in your immigration history? Makes no difference whatsoever.

You need to ask at your local immigration office. They will either say they will accept a visa application from you or they won't. If they do accept you will get an extension denied stamp in your passport and be given 7 days to leave the country (which you must do). There is no possibility of getting any longer than 7 days. You need to decide for yourself what impact an extension denied stamp will have on you but from a Thailand perspective there's no negative implications

It's an extension denied stamp. It doesn't give you 7 extra days; it gives you 7 days from and including the day you apply. So if you go on the last day, the best scenario, you have only 6 extra days.

Not all immigrations offices give these stamps on extended tourist visas. They would argue that you know that your time is up upfront, and that you should just leave the country on that day.

if you went into overstay while the Immigration offices were closed, and you visit them on the first day after they opened again, the overstay fine will be waived. And since you already exhausted your 30-days touristic extension, they will take the 1900.- THB fee, and give you a stamp "application denied, you have 7 days to leave the kingdom". . . . and NOW here comes what we cannot know for sure: Will the 7 days count from the day your overstay started, or will it count from the day you applied for the extension? THIS is the big question here, I cannot look into the mind of the Immigration officer. If you did NOT go into an overstay until the 17th, the 7 days grace period will start on the 17th being day number one

This is extension denied and gives you 7 days to leave the country.
