Thank, I only have about 6 weeks before I travel, so that's cutting it close. I'll be in the US for a little over 2 months, so I'll replace it there.

Advice of credit letter from the bank. My bank could not provide of one, because Wise used a different Thai bank to transfer funds from my US bank to my Thai account. If I had opened the account in the bank Wise used, it would be no problem.

And you definitely can. You can stay as long as you wish if you follow the rules.

Or do as I did today and get a 30 day extension on your METV and then decide on a "border run". Girl at the counter thanked me for having the required things in hand. About 20 minutes from walk in to walk out. Oh, this was at Krabi Immigration office, probably not as busy as Chiang Mai.
