The 400k needs to be in a bank account in your name only for a period of 2 months prior to applying for the extension NOT 2 years as you mentioned and you can withdraw the funds as soon as the 1 year extension has been stamped in your passport if you want to. You actually may be able to withdraw the funds after applying for the extension because when I went through this process there was no requirement to show proof of funds when I went to have the extension inked in my passport. Then for the next extension the 400k needs to be in your account 2 months prior to application.

That’s fair enough I would be okay with that especially if you are just doing in country renewals. If they want you to get the initial non B overseas it starts to get expensive.

Sorry. What I should have said is something like although not a legal requirement your employer may be contractually obligated to pay the expenses associated with obtaining a visa and work permit. This has been my experience in the past and it’s worth checking your employment contract for such a provision. Personally I would be very wary of signing a contract with an employer that doesn’t agree to cover such costs.

I know that TM30 is required but I am not sure if you have to submit a copy of it when doing a 90 day report. Having a copy with you would be the way to go.

Also copy of entry stamp if not shown on the copy of the visa stamp. Front page of passport actually means data/ photo page which isn’t the front page on some passports ( eg UK). I don’t know if a copy of TM30 is required but you need to make sure that it has been submitted.

Note that when you cancel the stay extension you might have to leave Thailand the same day. If you need some time to get your affairs in order you can fill out a TM7, pay 1900 Baht and you will get a stamp stating that your application for extension of stay is not approved and giving you 7 days to leave the country. The last time I transitioned off a work permit my employer HR went to the Labour Department, cancelled and returned my WP obtaining a receipt then went to immigration and cancelled my stay extension then applied for another stay extension which got me the 7 days to leave. Make sure you get a copy of the WP cancellation document if you think you might want to work here again sometime in the future.

Sorry that’s why I added your name afterwards but I didn’t change the wording so it didn’t read correctly. My mistake but I do hope it was what you were looking for. 😄

Is this the timeline that he was looking for? I saw this in another post and remembered that someone was asking for it.

UC until 25 July ( 21 days). I assume that Bangkok immigration has the capability to do a home visit if they think one is warranted based on the interview even though they don’t do it routinely.

I did mine in Bangkok last week and there was no mention of a home visit.
