How can I ensure a smooth application for my non-O visa extension in Thailand?

Can I check in to make sure that I am on the right track?

I have a non O ( marriage) visa issued by the RTC Penang on 14 May valid until 13 August

I arrived in Thailand on 17 May and was admitted until 14 August using the non O.

I understand that I can apply for 1 year stay extension at CW earliest 45 days prior to the end of my current entry permit which I calculate to be 30 June.

As the appointment booking system only allows appointments to be made 30 days in advance I can book an appointment now for early July whilst appointment slots are still available.

If I book an afternoon appointment slot I can go to my local bank branch in the morning on the appointment day and obtain the letter, transaction history and passbook update, copy them at home then go to the appointment in the afternoon ( funds already seasoned for 2 months)

Does this make sense?

Is there any advantage in applying for the stay extension as early as possible in the 45 days prior to visa expiration?

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is confirming their understanding of the visa extension process for their non-O marriage visa, which expires on August 14. They plan to apply for an extension 45 days prior, on June 30, although appointment booking is limited to 30 days. They seek to clarify whether applying early has advantages and if their plan to gather necessary documents in advance makes sense. Community responses suggest preparing documents in advance is wise and advise against waiting until the last minute due to potential additional document requests.

Make sure you deposit 100 baht into your account, so it shows the most current transaction date and balance. đź’Ż

It would work as long as your bank branch takes too long to make letters/transaction history.

What is an advantage to applying for an extension 45 days prior depends on individual priorities and/or preferences. So it's something you have to decide on your own.

We just advise people not to wait until the last minute to go to the office to apply for an extension in case they ask for additional documents (and it'd easily happen).

Extension will be "added" to your current 90 days stamp.

You should check the bank for letters.

I just want to confirm that Bangkok Bank branch at CW can do the bank letter on the spot. If I know that is the case I have got it covered.

, You need to contact your branch or CW branch of Bangkok Bank to confirm that. Yes, there are people who get letters at the CW branch. I don't know whether they have any conditions to do that, such as which branch your original account is, whether in the same business zone, etc, etc, or they issue without any condition.

Thanks. I understand that the letter is valid for 7 days so if I ask for it at my local bank a couple of days before my appointment and get it on the spot then I just need to get transaction record and bank book update on the day of my appointment. I read from various reports that BKK Bank at CW will do the letter on the spot if necessary. Correct?

the transaction record can be up to 7 days in advance too so you just need to update the book on the day. Be aware that next year with Bangkok Bank you will need to order the transaction record from your branch 5 days in advance

Thanks. I will worry about next year when it comes so for now I can get transaction record and letter up to 7 days prior to my appointment then just update bank book on the same day as my appointment right?

I got the transaction history on the spot from my branch before I went to Penang for the non O so that’s okay. If they can’t do the letter on the spot I could get the letter at CW branch couldn’t I? ( Bangkok Bank). Yes I am also thinking that applying earlier in the 30-45 days window is better in case they need more documents. Does the 1 year extension start from date of application or expiry of 90 day non O?
