Why are you telling everyone in Thailand you are doing a DTV run? Just go, stay for a weekend at some cheap hotel and come back. They over charging you because you're broadcasting it.

I've never heard of this, but I've also heard and seen some weird things with embassies doing nonsensical things.

What embassy are you applying out of?

Yeah, that 17k isn’t posted anywhere. Not even on their website. I was surprised too and have no idea what they are doing. I did the same thing and resubmitted stuff in 15-20 min the same day they told me I needed 17k it took them 23 business days after their website says 5 business days for resubmission. It could be due to the holiday they are short staffed and people on vacation but it’s stressful for sure.

Payment should be instant. So as other people said probably didn’t go through.

If you have to resubmit anything it basically puts you at the bottom of the stack, also any Thai and US holidays and weekends they don’t do anything. Which can put you weeks to months out. There’s no phone or anything all you can do is email. There is a Line but they aren’t “Visa officers”

LA for some odd reason requires 17,000 USD and they haven’t updated their website that says 16,000. Thailand itself only requires 15,000. So verdict is out why LA thinks they should make it 17k for literally 0 reason.

Go to Suvarnabhumi, try to get there during the day when it’s busy and they just want to get people through the line, try to find a lady that looks kind of sweet and kind, there’s a lot of them. Try to stay away from the guys some look just super angry and you could get the wrong one who just wants to flex.

I don’t know why people keep calling me out for this. I’ve been to Thailand 4 times, this is the 5th. I’m just saying what I’ve done, what’s worked for me and the result. You all do what you need to do, I’ll keep applying online and making my life easier instead of going to immigration. Y’all do what works for you. 🤷‍♂️

Yes I did, that’s why I caps the approve. I’ve never had to go in. I’ve heard mixed things and I don’t know what the difference is. The only thing I can think of is people that are bouncing around Thailand vs the people staying put in one place.
Kris **********
Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve done this too and got it APPROVED. It’s possible. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve seen a lot of comments saying “They never said you could extend blah blah” It clearly states that you can extend another 180 days. That gives you a full year without leaving. You can file this extension 1 time PER ENTRY. So technically if Thailand followed their own DTV policies you should be able to extend and stay a year per entry before leaving the country and coming back.

I heard Hua Hin was to be the friendliest place to do this, seems things have changed there as well. I never heard about needing a “Thai Bank Account” in order to extend. Nowhere on their website does it say that so it seems that embassy or maybe Hua Hin in general doesn’t want tourists there and it’s there way of getting rid of people. Who knows.
