When applying the applicant must show a reason they will return. Lots of ways that can be done but the Interviewer needs to believe it. My wife used the family business and a letter from her mother stating the business would fail without her property. and I threw in proof of how long I had been consecutively overseas at that point wrll ovet 25 years to make sure they understood our home was Thailand.
Wife says all they took from her documents was her Mothers Letter and she was In and Out in 5 minutes.
She was also joint for a few years on my Thai and US Bank Accounts with a travel record around Asia.
Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Legalized my Marriage Certificate and then this per then US Embassy Web Site. Used for IRS and VA with no problems
Authentication or Legalization of Royal Thai Government Officials’ Signatures
Authentications certify the official seal, signature and/ or authority of foreign officials who perform an official act with regard to a document that is to be used in the United States. The U.S. Embassy may authenticate documents that bear the seal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided their signature is on file with this office. A Consular Authentication does not attest to the authenticity of the contents of a document but merely to the seal and signature of the issuikng Thai government official.
Remember you don't pay unless the Visa is approved. Online App is easy and BOI will let you know right away by phone or e mail if they need more info.
I asked BOI about one possible problem and was told to send the application in and then and only then could they decide. Turns out that was not a problem they needed clarification on another item. Fast Forward and 20 days later was scheduling a Visa Pick Up date.
heard your the expert on LTR Fast Track Departing ANY TIPS? Entering is never a problem as I'm old and with my Thai wife so they give me the Thai Line but leaving can be a long slow wait.
you need insurance with a OX, renew yearly and 4 sign ins a year. Under BOI- LTR NEED Insurance, renew 10 years ( check at 5 years) , MultiExit/ Reentry for 10 years, and one sign in a year but in Bangkok, at least for now. Many prefer O based on Marriage or Retirement to avoid paying for insurance. I'm lucky as my US Medicare covers me under Military TRICARE For Life and that insurance is accepted under BOI-LTR but strangely not but no by Immagration for a O, OA or OX.
If you qualify LTR, in my opinion, @ 50,000 Bhat for 10 years which includes muti exit/ entry. I'm an American who has been in Thailand a couple decades and switched over. I qualify for and have had both the marriage and retirement visa but feel the LTR is best for my me.
