I am on the LTR Work from Thailand. It was difficult to organise - collecting all required documents was a 2 month process, but I am extremely grateful for it. Hopeful I can get renewed when the time comes.

visa exemption is the automatic entitlement to stay in the Kingdom. For most western countries it's 30 days. Many people are entitled to 30 days with no visa. Pretty sure that's true for Canada.

I flew in on a one way ticket using visa exemption with expectation to collect LTR visa stamp in BKK this coming Monday. Neither my airline (Emirates) or BKK Immigration asked for evidence of onward journey.

they should allow you to swap evisa for a stamp at immigration. Maybe one day.

Is the ‘sticker’ you get in person in your passport at the Ottawa Thai embassy the same as the stamp if you collect the LTR visa in Bangkok?

Thanks to both of you for your feedback. My application ‘started’ in late Feb. My employer delayed me 6 weeks. I have more documents I am waiting to upload (more payslips as I have 3 separate employers, I also have improved contract which is long term and a new employer letter and I also happen to have a no criminal record certificate which is less than 12 months old). I am waiting to upload, called them yesterday, and lady said she would pass on message to who is reviewing my application.

When or rather if I get this opportunity to update my documents I think I will change location of Visa pickup up from UK to Bangkok. But that carrys risk of application failure and scramble for Plan B or leave again. They don’t make it easy. If I can get provisionally approved and then fly to Thailand, that is probably most sensible.

May I ask about your experience applying for the LTR Working From Thailand visa?

1) how many days from application submission to approval did it take?

2) are you collecting your LTR visa in your home country or in Thailand? If the former, how many extra days did the Canadian Thai embassy take to process? Did you get a letter with visa emailed or an actual stamp in your passport which you physically collected?

3) were you asked to provide additional documents after your initial application?

Thanks so much.
