A divergent view for you...

If you do it in Thailand you can obtain a statutory declaration from the Australian office here in which you state you have a monthly income of an amount that exceeds the 65,000 baht limit...

It does not require you to state that it is from a pension or super fund...

You could just be planning to send yourself that money monthly from your bank account and that would satisfy the requirement that you have the necessary income coming to Thailand to support yourself...

And you would not have sworn an incorrect statutory declaration...

I just reported what happened.

It was not said to me in any funny way at all...

I didn’t want to do it, and still feel uncomfortable about it, tho thankfully the photocopy was illegible for numbers. And like you’ve indicated I didn’t feel I was in a strong enough position to refuse it, or push for an explanation...

However I did query it to make sure I had heard the request correctly and it was repeated to me. It was a request directly from the Thai helper guy who works outside and that everyone raves about being good and helpful...

When I got the photocopy and returned, the helper guy looked at it and then asked me to sign the page, which I did. He then stalled it into the package of documents that I took inside.

Inside the immigration officer stamped the credit card page, together with some of the other pages, but not all, so he was expecting it to be there...

I am watching my credit card now for anything suspicious...

Based on my experience today...

You need to add a copy of your credit card to your list...

Well...

A busy morning...

Income affidavit received and off to Phuket Immigration.

All documents prepared as per checklist from Ray Derrick (see photo).

The helper was happy with everything I presented and checked that I had a current notification of address and 90 day report (no overstay)...

The only issue is they appear to have added a new document requirement.

They wanted a photocopy if my credit card, signed, and just the front...

This was weird, and had me worried about fraud, but I didn't argue, just did it as requested...

Was then inside and extension of stay stamped into passport.

Photo taken, then told to come back tomorrow at 1pm for passport to be returned... and to get my multiple reentry permit...

In at 11:00, and out in way less than an hour...

One question...

Is this leave and comeback tomorrow usual for Phuket?

I talked to the "great Thai helper" there two weeks ago and he said to come last week August. so had been following that time frame. But he said that without seeing anything so guess I'll get everything together now and go next week...

First step is my income affidavit..

And yes, I will report back...

Yes..

Have done all of those things...

Have had no issues at all with Phuket immigration doing 90 day reporting or obtaining certificates of residence...
