Nobody can really say for sure but I just entered for my third time since May without any issues. My stays were for 56 days, 12 days and 13 days and I have never done an extension of stay.
They just need to do away with visa exempt if this is the case. The idea that you are not just a tourist because you enter twice in a year is absurd. What about travelers that are not working, not living there but just want to move slower and also visit neighboring countries? They are going to not only hurt tourism but also Bangkok’s status as the flight hub for the region. I think it might be best to enter SE Asia and exit via KL now otherwise expect to be harassed.
I stayed right at airport in the Tune hotel. It is owned by air Asia. You will save as you don’t need to pay for transportation. There are also several good food options at the airport.
