Yes, I wasn’t allowed to top off my card either as the station agent said I needed to update my account with my passport, which I did not have with me. Yet I had no problem topping it off at another station later. Go figure. I guess it depends on the individual station agent.

I don’t think there is a 60 day tourist visa. There is a 60 day exempt visa though.

Immigration is now screening social media accounts. They flagged you because you have only one Facebook friend. The Thais are very friendly people and they feel you wouldn’t qualify as a tourist since you are not friendly. Best to apply for a DTV where you can work on your laptop all alone.

The US will tax you if you exceed the minimum threshold. I don’t know about Thailand.
