Yesterday,I called both the national hotline and then CW in BKK and both told me that since I had permission to stay until March 29 under my extension on my visa exempt entrance, I did not have to come on April 23rd to get my under consideration stamp changed to valid to stay and get the rest of my days, and I would good for the amnesty extension until April 30th. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I will call CW to double check again on Friday. Don't know if this belongs in this section of this thread but put it here fyi and to get your feedback.
This has been said everywhere I have been involved for past the 2 decades I have spent time here. It was interesting that the person I spoke to on the national hotline was saying with this decree it should not be.
Me too. Comments like these really seem lacking in compassion when people don't know anything about other people's lives and it's true everyone is struggling with stress and anxiety. I know I am. I hope I can get back to Taiwan soon, but it looks very doubtful now. Thanks again man : )
I came here because I rent a flat here and stay for 4 to 5 months every winter(Nov-March) for about 20 years. I was shutting everything done and going to exit to Taiwan permanently, but was too slow to exit before the borders closed.
No it's not. I have been following this religiously since the borders closed on the 18-19th of March. However, many places that advise on visas have said that people who went to get the emergency covid extension and have the under consideration stamp have been advising people to get the confirmed validity of stay stamped in to their passport to be fully legal within the amnesty, even if their original validity of stamp was past March 26th.
