So in a follow up to en earlier post of mine, to try and confirm my situation, I called both the immigration hotline 1178 and Chaeng Wattana Immigration today. They both told me since I was legal to stay until March 30th even though I had gone on March 26 for emergency covid extension with an under consideration stamp for April 23rd that I did not have to report on the 23rd for the final stamp, and I have an automatic extension until April 30th. Chaeng Wattana IO further asked what passport I had and I told them US with original visa 30 day stay, and the women said don't worry no problem. I should be good right?

Are you all sure the thais are going to give a visa past 7 days. The UK Embassy has now stopped the extension letter

We all hope this will end and some restrictions get lifted by april 30 but it's most likely not going to happen..so were all hoping they do another extension like this one.

I came here because I rent a flat here and stay for 4 to 5 months every winter(Nov-March) for about 20 years. I was shutting everything done and going to exit to Taiwan permanently, but was too slow to exit before the borders closed.

Me too. Comments like these really seem lacking in compassion when people don't know anything about other people's lives and it's true everyone is struggling with stress and anxiety. I know I am. I hope I can get back to Taiwan soon, but it looks very doubtful now. Thanks again man : )

You don't have to explain yourself to the 80 year retired McDonald's worker living in his ex bar girls basement.

No it's not. I have been following this religiously since the borders closed on the 18-19th of March. However, many places that advise on visas have said that people who went to get the emergency covid extension and have the under consideration stamp have been advising people to get the confirmed validity of stay stamped in to their passport to be fully legal within the amnesty, even if their original validity of stamp was past March 26th.

This has been said everywhere I have been involved for past the 2 decades I have spent time here. It was interesting that the person I spoke to on the national hotline was saying with this decree it should not be.

it has been said in here many times. It all depends on which immigration office you are dealing with.

As she said; automatic extension until 30th Apr; however you should plan what to do next if you need to stay after 30th
