So in a follow up to en earlier post of mine, to try and confirm my situation, I called both the immigration hotline 1178 and Chaeng Wattana Immigration today. They both told me since I was legal to stay until March 30th even though I had gone on March 26 for emergency covid extension with an under consideration stamp for April 23rd that I did not have to report on the 23rd for the final stamp, and I have an automatic extension until April 30th. Chaeng Wattana IO further asked what passport I had and I told them US with original visa 30 day stay, and the women said don't worry no problem. Should I trust them or still go? Am i paranoid? Thoughts? Tod Daniels

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reached out to immigration both via hotline and at Chaeng Wattana, receiving confirmation that their visa is valid until April 30th despite having an extension under consideration. They express doubt and are asking if they should trust the information provided by immigration officers or if they should go for a final stamp to be safe, with varying opinions from other community members.

The amnesty rule is for Thailand, not only for some provinces or some individuals with special arrangements.

If you don't trust, there is only one solution.

Go to Immigration, apply for the Extension of Stay and pay the 1.900 Thb. If there is no Extension of Stay available leave the country and do not rely on an amnesty and Immigration you do not trust.

Thai immigration is going to be the highest authority of information on this topic and you’ve asked them twice. I’m not sure what else can set your mind at rest.

Is this it? Please confirm. I don't want to screw up since I know some people here and in thaivisanews have been telling people with covid extension under consideration stamps that they should go and get them officially stamped to be safe.

There is a time when you can trust Immigration officers.
