That's something else I've misunderstood, I thought hotels automatically informed immigration that you stayed on their premises. Or do you just refuse to show your passport or hide whilst the other half shows someone elses Thai ID card?

My understanding was that you can only drive on a foreign licence with an international driving permit for up to 90 days, after that you need a Thai licence. Either I didn't grasp the rules or you've got away with one (or five).

How odd. Does it cost a lot to bribe officialdom then?

Will you be laughing if you get stopped by the cops or are involved in an accident with no licence or insurance though?

Maybe you need to check out the air quality in your area and monitor the fine particulate content which is what sensible people appear to have been doing prior to Covid particularly in high population density areas such as Bangkok and other large conurbations?

I used to see lots of Thais wearing masks before the pandemic because of bad air quality ;)

I'm still alive having arrived just over a year ago with the trip taking around 24 hours door to door. I didn't suffocate. Neither did I suffocate jogging in Bangkok with a mask when we lived there. Guess I must just have been lucky?
