I follow the news from my home country in Europe and they did many things the same as Thailand. Yet my home country has much more fatalities. I believe there are many more factors than just the steps the leaders took to prevent the spreading of the disease.

Retirement visa needs Baht 800,000 in the bank. As a married man I need Baht 400,000 in the bank.

For me that is important, for others it may not be.

If your current extension runs out September you can not go now, only 45 days prior. But perhaps I understand your question wrong.

No border runs, but report to immigration office for 90 days report. Can do it online also, but does not always work for everybody.
