Anyone got an up-to-date list of the requirements for a married man's extension?

On a multiple O with a visa run due on June 12th. Wondering if it wouldn't be easier to see if I can get the extension now. Got the 400k in the bank. Multiple O doesn't run out to Sept mind. Not sure if that will be a problem.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for a married man's visa extension in Thailand, specifically when holding a multiple-entry Non-O visa. Users outline that one can only apply for an extension within 45 days of the current visa's expiration, while also sharing documentation requirements. Essential documents include bank statements, photographs, marriage certificates, and perhaps a map to the residence. There are stricter regulations in some provinces, like the requirement for a photo of the bedroom in Chiang Rai, though this varies by location.

Does this include bedroom action?

This is the list for marriage extension in Chiang Rai. Where it says they want pictures, they also need bedroom picture now. No joke.

Better consider moving moving to Krabi.. The only province with laxed uncessary visa requirements.

My last 2 yearly extensions I did, at Changwattana, a photo of bedroom wasn't required. Just photo of front of house showing street number, photo if us out the front and photo of us inside it. Dont know if its changed recently though.

Thank you.

advice seems the better course. I shall await fate and the 31st July.

I would say your safest course of action IS

Take this fairy tale amnesty until the 31st of July,

bounce out and back in on your existing visa (if it's still valid then) to get a new 90 day entry stamp and just stay on it as long as you can.

Does the marriage visa require proof of medical insurance as the retirement visa now does?

I shall take that advice. I suspect I shall be needing health insurance and a medical certificate. That'll be fun.

Roger, in bangkok you can apply for a yearly extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current 90 day entry stamp from your Non-O.

There was a post on the Thai Visa Nation News FORUM in the visa sub forum that had the requirements listed for a yearly extension based on marriage BUT I'd say take your wife and swing by the immigration office and get the hand out. It's quite the list of documentation you need, as well as getting the letter from the bank, and update your bank book, photos, map to the house, marriage certificates, copies of relevant passport pages, thai wifes i/d, house book, lease, TM30, etc

Thanks Tod, I am not keen on the idea. Too much paperwork. If I can get through to September then I would go for the retirement extension having seen the awkward Transferwise cock-up entries drop off my list of incoming money. Plus one entry just below the 65k. Not knowing what they are likely to do on July 31st is adding confusion. Thanks again. I remain, undecided.

If your current extension runs out September you can not go now, only 45 days prior. But perhaps I understand your question wrong.

@Roy **********
, you're confusing an extension with his VISA.

My Visa runs out in September, my 90 days in June. Having realised that I will be in the UK in 2021 when renewal would come up, I think I need another plan. Thanks.
