No return ticket required it's a multi entry 5 year visa. It's not a 69 day visa exempt. There are other conditions to having a long term visa you should make yourself aware of

It depends on the immagration office that you will do your extension. Mine wanted all the same paperwork as originally supplied but also photos of my house with me included like 4 different photos. I did the trip out to KL nice 4 days sightseeing came back in no probs. Next time do the same but maybe another place to visit.

Up to you once approved you have the visa no time limit on entry you could wait 4 years then go but you only have a year left then

that's not violating visa conditions. It doesn't state anywhere you must stay in the place of application. It's only some people here say that but they have never done it lots of people apply and leave and go out when visa approved. Search in this site you will see many do

You application was not good enough. People don't have the money in savings or move money and it's like the minimum. Yiu think the embassy is stupid. You didn't even submit a complete application and now you want to complain. Best for you now you know go to Laos and apply again new but now you know what they want. It's easy if you know what your doing. Vientiane also does interview so it's all clear when you leave and next day pick up visa
