When people refer to agencies there are different meanings. In Vientiane it is not possible, as in Penang/Malay, to hire someone to do it for you, you must do in person. We as agency from Bangkok or other agencies can bring the people to Embassy and can help people (our customer) to apply for visa, we can help in asking the employer to send addl documents , etc., but no agency can "ask" for special bla bla bla. Vientiane is very straight forward.

Stamp out of Thai, bus bus ticket to Laos side, THB40.-, buses leave every 5 minutes, on the Laos side hand in the form for Laos visa on arrival, time depends on how many people there, not forget to stamp into Laos, than find transport to the Thai Consulate( which is at at different location as the Thai Embassy). I have never checked on e-visas in details, but only Business visas are extendable for 6-12month. Agencies can also get you paperwork to cover the work permit issue.

yes, but people want to stay in Cambodia that they become fussy, no problem if you go OUT/IN, but if you go into Cambodia and possible extend visa in Phnom Penh than they might get a bit fussy, because any extension is a sticker for itself.
