Thank you Heinz,

I’ll consider my options.

Sounds like a non O visa would be less complicated, much easier, and cheaper

Graham Seal Hello Graham, thank you for the prompt reply, much appreciated.

The purpose of getting the OA visa was multiple entry.

I only want to spend 6 months in Thailand initially to see how it goes.

Would I be better off just getting the Non O Visa initially?

I see they’re now asking for medical certificates in relation to contagious diseases.

I’m ok with a clear bill of health.

But believe I need my doctor to sign off while I’m still here in Australia?

I’m an Australian citizen, I’m 75 and in excellent health on an Australian 🇦🇺 government age pension.

I’m applying for an OA retirement visa through Thai 🇹🇭 Consulate here in Canberra, for entry in May of 2026 as a single person.

I’m in the process of getting the following.

1- AFP National Criminal Record Check.

2- A proof of residence letter for living in

Thailand.

3- Proof of income from Centrelink of an income of
*****
thai baht monthly.

4- Thai Health Insurance.

5 - Return Airline Ticket.

My question is,

Is the OA Visa the most suitable visa for me?
