many thanks so it's after applying/granted the full one year extension NOT your initial three months visa. (I know this can vary office to office or officer)

I plan to change to a non-o (marriage) to free up some funds for fairly urgent medical reasons but I don't want to jeopardize that change or even worse invalidate this current extension by misunderstanding my requirements and taking money out too soon.

You can also get a new British passport through VFS in Chiang Mai

day 10 I think at the Metro Point bk, times flown by, decent food and a balcony for 32k, more cash in the bank to spend when I'm back home in Mae Sot, what's not to like 😁

most embassies won't comment on immigration policy inside the kingdom, it's not their job. Some like Saigon have websites not updated since 2019 and won't even reply to multiple emails in both English and Thai simply asking what documents are required to apply for a visa. So the Seemingly obvious choice often isn't the most successful unfortunately.
