No such thing as a border bounce visa. You can extend the free stamp for 30 days at your specific immigration office for 1900 baht

If you haven't got a "suspicious" history of visa exempt entries or covid extensions, it's unlikely you'll be asked to show the dosh. As Brandon says, they normally only bring it into play if they're actively looking for something to deny entry.

So you've been living in Thailand for two years as a tourist? All you can do is try, but many embassies and consulates are taking a dim view of this, and even if you get the visa you could still be denied entry by immigration. Have you considered getting a proper visa which fits your reason for being in Thailand?

Immigration and customs are two separate functions. Customs has nothing to do with visas

You must check with your airline. If you are over 30 days they might deny boarding. If they say it's ok, get it in writing.
