Thanks for advance for your answers.

Has anyone had any success applying for a multiple entry tourist visa (evisa) whilst outside of Thailand (but not in country of origin and/or travelling in other counties).

My passports are British and Australia.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges of applying for a multiple entry tourist visa (METV) for Thailand while being outside one's home country. It highlights that applications can only be made from the home country or a country of permanent residence. The conversation also notes changes in the application process, particularly for Australian citizens, who now must apply online rather than in person at the consulate, with a processing time of about 10 days.

no change, last year in July I did it the same way I did this month. Fill out online application for pre-approval email to come through 7 days later. Then went into Macquarie Street with pre-approval number to hand in my passport and the paper copies of forms and docs used online. Went back 7 days later to collect. The passport shows it was actually stamped and processed the day I dropped it off but was told to come a week later. Smooth and easy process, worth it for 6 month METV

no mate what happened is I went to thai consulate Macquarie St Sydney November 2022 made enquires and the thai staff told me to fill out visa application form and bring it back so I had to change my plans a little and postponed my trip until April this year so mid march having application filled out went back to consulate and was told the old system no longer and is all online now and about 10day process not enough time for that process so didn't bother with it so on the plane I go 30 day visa exempt first relaxing phuket and bangkok now 2 hours at pattaya chonburi immigration this week and recieved 30 day extension 1900baht close to the end of that extension may enter laos via land border and re enter for another 30 day visa exempt just as easy see a little more of the country doing it that way Chokh di

So no-one has done a multiple entry E-VISA application via London Thai embassy online when not in the UK at that time?

You can ONLY get a METV from your home country or a country you have permanent residence in.

Perth was possible pre-covid, not anymore?
Brandon ************
@Maxim **********
there's no Thai consulate in Perth. All of the honorary Thai consulates no longer function to issue visas.

@Brandon ***********
Oh okay, It use to be easy to go to Perth to get METV for most nationalities. A lot of people I know were doing it. I don't know why it was possible but not anywhere else except your country of origin.

@Maxim **********
maybe that's one of the reasons all of them no longer can issue visas

In Thailand currently but leaving for Kuala Lumpur for a month, then want to apply for multiple entry as I will be doing a bit of travel in and out of Thailand.

@Tom *****
you can only get a single entry tourist visa in KL. How long are you planning on spending in Thailand in total, and what has been your history of spending time in Thailand? Another visa type may be more appropriate for you.

6 months if I can.. History is this is my first time in Thailand got in on visa exempt. Then extended it. So total 60 days when I leave ( lifetime total)

@Tom *****
how many times are you planning to leave in that 6 months and for how long? You'd be lucky to get 6 months out of visa exempt but then I'm also not sure if you get a tourist visa you can get re-entry permit with it
Brandon ************
@Tom *****
you can't apply for a METV in Malaysia

@Brandon ***********
what about a regular tourist visa
Brandon ************
@Martinello *********************
depends on the country. The Thai embassy in some countries only deal with nationals of that country.

if your in the UK you use that passport in Australia use that passport simple then you’ll need a reason why you need a METV good luck
