Thank you, Bernd! Good to hear that their website is up-to-date re. requirements.

Great report, Bernd! Did they ask for a bank statement, e.g. balance of 20,000 baht? Also, are they offering multiple tourist visas too, or only single ones?

No, I wish I were, but I'm not a citizen. But getting a SETV while on holiday there would be nice, though. By the way, what cash gets the better exchange rate in NZ: US dollars or Euros? (Also will they accept 500 Euro banknotes? They seem to be more and more frowned upon, e.g. in the UK.)

Thanks, so which ones are most likely to issue me a METV: Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, or Hobart? (Perth is a little out of the way.)

Good idea, as I booked a flight to Melbourne. Any advice on how to get there besides flying? Isn't there a ferry between Melbourne and Hobart?

So, even though I'm a citizen of Schengen country 'A', I'm not required to apply with my own embassy, but can just pick any of the other member states? How about the language skills; would my partner be asked to have a Greek language test, when applying with the Greeks?

Wouldn't that mean trouble in Malaysia for illegal entry?
