Why was my entry into Thailand questioned after I declared a 55-day stay on a visa exemption?

He was kind. He could have refuse you to enter into Thailand because of this. Planning to stay longer than thirty days is not allowed on a VISA exemption, you need a VISA for that.

Before exit the last day, make sure not exiting on a border who require you to stay outside Thailand for one night, as Aran/PoiPet as an example.

I called Prachin Buri to ask about this. They told me I need to file a new TM30.

We go there now and see if it was a misunderstanding because of my English. I let my wife talk to them and see if it's only need an update.

I too visited Bangkok for one night only. The hotel made a report of address, hence the need.

go to the police and report it. Visit the immigrationoffice, they know the number of your departurecard from when you did the 24 hour report with TM30 on arrival, they can easily replace it with a new with new number and reference it to your old.
