you are not sure how they have confidence? Because nobody has ever had an issue with LTR. And temporary or legal? Don't care. Happy to be a guest

the challenge seems to be lack of specifics. Primarily whether the 500k balance is a requirement of the full time period of bank statements

@Stuart ********
is there a list anywhere of those requirements in nearby nations?

there is no requirement whatsoever for money outside of Thailand. 500k baht equivalent. Anywhere… including Thailand.

Yes - it’s absolutely a tourist visa. No problem having a Thai account. Many do

anyone who actually qualifies for LTR isn’t worried about start up costs. It’s only 50k baht. It’s actually cheaper than 10 multi-entry retirement extensions. And zero annual visits to bank and immigration and zero reporting.

I suppose most retirees value their time at least a bit.

right. Tourism follows different patterns. Which is why there is not limit on air entries. Many people doing different things and have different needs and or patterns. Offshore workers may enter 6-12 times annually. Business people. Someone touring SE Asia etc.

There is no visa that fits your pattern at present. If you later decide you will stay longer, there are options for long term stay visas
