Do I just need to have 500,000 baht in my bank account to get a DTV visa or do I need to have 500,000 baht for 3 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV visa in Thailand, the required bank balance can vary based on the embassy you are dealing with. While 500,000 baht is the standard amount, some embassies may require you to maintain this balance for a specific duration—1, 3, or even 6 months. It is advisable to consult directly with your embassy for precise requirements. Personal experiences suggest that holding the amount in your account for longer periods might be safer, especially if you have been denied previously for shorter durations.

I’d say to be safe 3-6. I’m currently applying again with it showing for 6 months, after being denied 6 months ago for only having it in my account for 1 month😅(didn’t know at the time). As others said it’s embassy specific, maybe even just up to the officer you’re dealing with 😂

For the DTV, it just has to be 500k equivalent, correct? Since doing it out of country, you'll still have the money in your own currency?
Kay *******
I think no limit as long as you have that amount money sitting in your account for guarantee security

you are actually wrong two times, not a World record, but you are welcome to try! Regarding the 500,000 THB bank deposit, it will be dependent on the embassy or consulate he uses for the application. Some want to see just the balance of the day, other will want to see the money has been in the account for 3 or even for 6 months.
