nobody has mentioned in their comments, so just in case you're not aware, each person needs to have a Thai bank account in their own name, not joint names and both need to have the required proof of funds for the Visas, so 800k Baht each.
I read a post and the comments in the Thai Visa Advice - Q&A last night. A Moderator posted this comment that I copied & posted below:
"Thai Immigration Officers are becoming more strict on questioning those who have been in Thailand using back to back visa exempt entry plus extensions.
Over 1,000 people at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok and DMG Don Mueang airport Bangkok were denied entry in the recent week. And returned to their initial flight departure city at travelers expense.
Mostly for multiple uses of the visa exempt entry with extensions.
Suggest you use a land border crossing if you try to get a second visa exempt entry. And use an experienced border run service company to take you with same day return.
They PRE-ARRANGE your exit and reentry to get the New 60 day STAMP as Visa Exempt Entry."
I get the impression that you think there's no problems with back to back visa exempts and extensions and this is from multiple comments you've made recently. Am I right or wrong? If I'm wrong, then so would
are they really so pedantic about a foreigner doing such a minor chore such a minor fix on one's own house that doesn't require any specific qualifications?
Maybe my third sentence confused you, but can't you see from reading my comment, that I was referring to short term tourist options, not long term visas?
Living in Thailand for one year on tourist visas? Or Visa Exempt entries? There's no visa that will allow you to live in Thailand for a whole year. If you use Visa Exempt, you might be questioned by Immigration Officers in the second half of that year. If using Tourist Visas obtained outside Thailand, you might be a little luckier, but they might refuse you entry at some point.
