Correct, if you're wanting to claim the Australian Aged Pension and you're living outside the country when you turn 67, which is the current age to be eligible (that depends on your year of birth though), you'd come back to Australia and then have stay 2 years before receiving the Pension. From what I've read from Aussies on Facebook, I believe, but don't take my word without checking with Services Australia, that Centrelink do allow limited overseas holidays during that 2 year 'qualifying' period, but you would need to let them know if you intend to leave the country. They'll know if you're leaving the country and I'd assume that you'll be penalised somehow for not informing them before leaving.

Do these new taxes affect Thai Nationals who send used goods home from overseas?

"my friend"? Sorry, I'm very particular about whom I choose as friends and you wouldn't qualify as a good enough person

I can't really speak for the British sense of humour and it being rude, as I moved from England to Australia in the early 1970's. The Australian sense of humour can be very good, but yes, quite a few 'MEN' think that rudeness is funny - Wrong!

, in guessing that you're new to this group and ones like it 🤔

I've experienced much worse than you have in a couple of Thailand related groups that I've been in for the past couple of years. It seemed a 'big mistake' to put up a Post about my meeting a beautiful Thai lady on my holiday to Thailand. The number of responses to my post was way beyond what I expected. Roughly 50% were negative, or outright rude, though not quite so bad in this group. My advice is 'thicken your skin' a little and ignore the negative comments, but if they are really rude, block the people, so you don't see their comments and they don't see anything from you. I've blocked a small number of people and others I've just ignored their comments. Sometimes you'll also find that someone who does comment negatively occasionally, can sometimes also provide good information to group members. Being an Aussie, I've found a higher number of negative types in the "Australians in Thailand" group than this one.

maybe a person who has done very little, or no travel overseas, like me. So, tell me, what makes a person respond with a rude and stupid comment like yours, when it seems so obvious to someone with only average intelligence, that the OP is inexperienced in these matters?

@Greta ****
ok, no worries. It's not really important right now anyway

@Greta ****
question was the second half of my original response to your comment, ending with "? "

@Greta ****
right, I realised that, but that wasn't my question

just curious, as my passport is Australian, but having been born in a different country many years ago. w

Was there any requirement, or opportunity to enter a copy of other ID documents that would confirm ID, other than the passport, e.g. Citizenship Certificate?
