Thanks. I would not be able to get Health insurance (too ancient, too unwell 🙂) - so a crucial issue : is the Marriage route not needing that compulsory insurance, and the Retirement route does ? Thanks.

From the EVisa website : 'Non-Immigrant Type O (Visiting or staying with applicant's family resided in Thailand (more than 60 days) - single entry only)' Is that the visa for someone who wants to get the 12-month extension after the Cat O, to live with Thai wife, but NOT with Thai Family, never!

When i followed the terms for a Non-O in the London evisa site i landed on this!

It wil be either Retirement or Married to Thai national. I was in and out of Thailand for 8 years between 2008 and 2016 on the Non-O Multiple Entry 12-month visa (border bounce every 90 days), but i realise that's gone so just trying to update my knowledge.
