I am not understanding the border runs with the visa things. If I am in Thailand on a visa to be a teacher and all that is squared away, why would I need to make a border run? They already know why I am in country. The school has already done the contract and submitted the paperwork.
I just don’t understand why or the concept. Explain please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Border runs in Thailand are often required due to the duration limitations of certain visas. Even if your teaching visa is valid and all paperwork is submitted, your visa may have a specific timeframe that necessitates a border run to reset your stay duration or to obtain a new visa or extension. This can be confusing, especially if your purpose in Thailand is already established, but it's a common requirement for many types of visas.
