@Robert ******
yeah , ( and I know of two cases myself ) are to scared actually to try and leave because both have overstayed for over a year , 3 years in one case .

I wouldn’t want anything hanging over me , luckily I’ve retired , these guys are only in their 30’s I’d guess , and not known to each other .

I did mine at London too , about 3 years ago , you’ll need a police record check , health check ( download form from the thai embassy web site ) . Uk bank statements . And I never actually got round to using it ( left uk ) until about 5 months after issue , note I also nearly got just under 2 years on that before I had to do my first extension ( 800k bht in thai bank etc ) .. note .. all the items you need as previously mentioned need to be ‘ bundled and sealed ‘ by a solicitor.

Both . But it’s the owner that gets fined or should do , as was in my case , my agent inform them , and when I did ( 6 weeks later as I never knew I had too ) I got a bit of a lecture , and I said sorry , what is my fine ? . She said not you ‘ owner ‘ , “ where is owner ? . I said I don’t know , in Russia I guess as I think he’s Russian it says in the contract .. ok no problem she said , but don’t forget if you go anywhere in Thailand even for 2-3 days you must inform us .. 😳 o ok , I said .

No such thing as a 10 year visa for the uk , ok , this what happened to me .. I got my girlfriend a 6 month holiday visa back in 2003 , after her going back after about 4 months , then when 6 month had past we applied a got another 6 months ( there must be a 6 month gap ) on her her second visit , we went to Croydon and applied for a residence permit , if you fit the criteria ( she is not allowed to work therefore you will need to show you can support her , Home , bank , etc ) .. a year later we applied for a work permit , and permanent status , English test etc .

14 years later she’s still there ( we’ve swopped places she’s stays in the uk and I live perm in Thailand 😉👍🏻😂)

@Phil ******
👍🏻. I’ll use an agent there’s plenty down here , can’t be asked to go to Bkk twice , I think they charge around 5000 ( plus passport costs ) .

@Steve ******
ok cheers , I did go into an agent just to find out cost and time , ( easyvisa ) Pattaya Tai , and I got the impression she wanted to take my passport , as she remarked to bring it in just after my last 90 day , that way if there are any delays we have plenty of time . ..

@Steve ******
really ? I thought they ( agent ) sent your actual passport off ..

That’s fucking shocking to be honest .. the most valuable part of information a traveler needs and it’s spelt wrong .

I live here in Thailand and will be going to an agent soon to get a new passport as I’ve only 7 months left on my current one , they tell me it takes 3-4 weeks so I’ll go just after I do my next 90 days .. now I’ll be concerned about that too as well as getting my old one back with I’ll need for my O-A extension stamp .
