TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Non-O married visa obtained in Laos, which is valid until December. They inquired about needing a paper from immigration for their next border run after the expiration of their 90-day entry stamp. Responses clarified the user's status under amnesty from an expired stamp, and they were informed of their options, which include preparing to leave by the 26th of September or applying for a 60-day family visit extension or a year extension based on marriage with appropriate proof of funds.

okay so I think we sussed out that
@Jür***
, is on amnesty from an expired 90 day entry stamp from a Non-O visa (which is good until Dec 2020) AND their options are

-do nothing and prepare to leave the country on or by the 26th of Sept

-get a 60 day visit thai family extension without proof of funds

-get a year extension based on marriage by showing proof of funds (either 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for it OR by using an affidavit of income from your consulate stating you get at least 40K baht per month in income).

Those are your options as they are right now

we can only assume that he cannot fulfill the financial requirements, because why otherwise would he have stayed in Thailand with the multi entry Non-O married from Savannakhet? A many married people are in the same situation right now. Visa vaild but "admitted stay stamp" expired, everybody on amnesty and no border bounce possible except one flies back to his home country and comes back. A Dutch guy (story from 2 weeks ago) did his and he spent 300,000 Baht on such a "visa run" recently

I was in the exact same boat as you but I just got the 60 day visit friends and family extension on Monday. Was very easy to do and only took an hour or so at Chaeng Wattana. I am currently waiting for my funds to season to get the year long extension of stay. With Covid, it seems risky to rely on the border bounce.

Or he can apply for a 1 year extension provided he can meet the requirements

So i have go still to the immigration for a 60 days extension,or I wait until the border open an do than the border run?

the German embassy never allowed anyone swear on the Bible on how much money they earned monthly 😀😀 . . they ask for HARD proof. So the immigration still accepts these letters

@Gregor *********
In that case, that is an option for the OP, if he has a German passport

yes

the immigration does in fact accept income letters legalized by the German Embassy Bangkok for income proof. I know a handful of married Germans who use this letter

For Extension of Stay based on Marriage to a Thai national?

a German can still get the embassy letter of yearly income proof

@Jürgen *****
you don't loose any days if you apply for the 60-day family visit extension anytime in September. The 60 days will count from 27 September on. This will give you enough time to season 400.000 THB in the bank for 2 months, then apply for "1-year Extension of Stay based on marriage" . .with this Extension, no more border bounces are needed

IF you want to stay in Thailand longer then September 26, you MUST go to immigration and request for an:

Extension of stay based on visiting Thai family

Each immigration office has their own requirements, however it does not require proof of income, or proof of savings. It will require your wife to be next to you, and the marriage certificate.

Once you get that 60 day extension of stay, you can stay until the middle of November.

IF the borders reopen by the middle of November, bounce on your current visa, and you'll get another 90 day stamp. IF the borders *DO NOT* reopen, then you'll have to leave Thailand and go through the quarantine process when you return.

But my visa is valued until december

@Jürgen *****
OR, another option is to get the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family, which will let you stay until November. *IF* the borders reopen in November, bounce out and back in for another 90 day stamp. However, it's unknown if the borders will re-open then.

@Jürgen *****
It doesn't matter. Your visa is still usable. Usable means you can still enter on the visa. However, whenever you enter Thailand on that visa, you can only stay no more than 90 days. You want to stay longer, and therefore you need to extend your "stamp"

A third option is to do another bounce, giving you another 90 days. However, you'll have to find a country that'll accept you, get permission from the Thai government to return, catch a Thai government approved flight, AND do a 15 day quarantine at your expense. Expect to be outside of Thailand for a few months, and spend at least 100K THB. I *DO NOT* recommend that option.

You are currently on amnesty, and must leave no later than September 26, 2020 (see attached flyer, section 2). You have two (common) choices to stay in Thailand:

1. Get a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family. This will let you stay until mid November. You will need to bring your wife to the immigration office, as well as your rose border marriage certificate.

2. Get a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national. This requires the 400K THB in a Thai bank account, seasoned for 2 months.

Couldn't that be an income declaration from the embassy? No need for money in the bank + seasoning.

Let's make sure I understand WHAT you have first.

Do you have a *FULL PAGE* Multiple Entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national that you got in Savannakhet, Laos, where on every bounce you get to stay in Thailand for 90 days?
