I believe you have to apply from your country of origin.

Stuart Chiverton for a one year extension of stay? They have always required one with the requisite bank statements and passbook. Or so I thought, which is what I have done for the past 10 years.

that is the only way you can get a 12 month statement from BKK. It is impossible to get an exact 12 month statement as it takes a week to get. So theoretically, you have not given them a 12 month statement. You can get it down to a couple of days short my way.

Immigration were the ones to call for a 12 month when a photocopied passbook and letter sufficed before.

The easiest way to do BKK bank statements is as follows and has worked for me for many years.

Go to your local branch about a month before and ask them for a bank statement that runs from your last application date. This takes about 5 days to receive. Ask the bank to hold onto it as the day before the next application you go to the bank and ask for a 6 month statement and letter of proof. This is immediately available.

So, on that day before your application at Immigration you will walk out of the bank with 1x12 month statement, 1x6 month statement and your letter of proof of your account. Job done.

If this will open, take a look at it as it will tell you all about HMRC and how they know you have left the UK. Goes into tax residency etc.

most Immigrations will want originals as opposed to home printouts. And some banks will not sign/stamp any documents they have not provided.

Martyn Rollinson not really if you know the routine. I have been doing it for 10 years with no hassle.

You go to the bank a month or so before needed and request a 12 month statement from your last extension. Then the day before the present extension, you go to the bank and request a 6 month statement and your confirmation of account letter and also collect the 12 month statement. Job done.
