Only some countries allow you to apply online when you are in them, Malaysia isn't one of them. That's because their embassies do not process e-visa applications yet.

Thank you. I’m heading to George Town tomorrow but I am not sure when I’ll process the DTV as they are closed over the weekend. If I’m lucky I’ll get my application in Friday.

Oh, one more thing they did mention is that they don’t know the processing times for the visa as it’s new. I asked them for a rough time frame but they could not provide one. Hopefully I’m not here too long in hotels 🤷‍♂️

No, I am not going for the soft power one as I should be able to go for the workation one. I didn’t get much more info but they did tell me to check the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs for all of the document requirements…

Any country that accepts foreign applications should work. I am heading to the Penang embassy in Malaysia where they are accepting.
