You can take as much as you like but it has to be officially declared , to a federal agency and also declared at the airport.

Hmmm it’s a bit confusing. My read is, everybody now has to apply online . They are no longer taking applications in person

if you have enough money in your bank account O X visa is a good start I think, I have been looking at all the options myself. To get from Australia $150,000 in bank and bank statements Health affidavit from doctor and medical insurance. Gives 5 years without all the hassle of getting extensions . I think it can be extended in 5 year increments. I am still researching myself . All advice is welcome
