Having a multi entry non o-a visa means pretty much total freedom to come and go to Thailand without worrying whether you have to make a trip specifically for a stamp renewal (except at the end of the first year to be able to stay a further year). It requires more paperwork in the beginning but worth it for the lack of worry later.
CM are (or now maybe were) very hot on this. When we returned in January we took the TM30 slip (receipt) with passports and the TM6 departure card. Spent 10 mins at IM while they stamped the slip with a new date and the number off the TM6. Would be interested to find out whether they still need it done as we leave the country again soon but will be returning to the same address.
Point to note. It’s a legal requirement to use the USA passport on entry and exit from USA. After that any passport can be used. I concur with the advice of Steven and Tony.
The ‘other useful info’ makes interesting reading. Can volunteer. Money can be taken from bank account but has to be in the bank at the end of year. Read correctly?
They’ve only just recently started to crack down on it and CM are hot because they realise there’s lots of ฿1,600s out there just waiting to be harvested!
