Hi guys,

I have one more question, please. Now that I have a METV, what type of documents, can I be asked about at the Immigration Desk at the airport? Do all of these three apply or not for METV:

1) 20,000 Baht

2) Return flight ticket

3) Hotel Reservation for the complete period of stay

I'm particularly interested in (3), as I am planning to sort our my accommodation on the spot when I arrive there, rather than book a hotel in advance.

Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand on a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV), it is generally not required to present documents such as proof of funds (20,000 Baht), a return flight ticket, or a hotel reservation. Many travelers have reported that immigration does not ask for these items, but you will need to provide an address on the immigration landing card. It is advised, however, to have a cancelable hotel booking to show if questioned.

I entered the Kingdom 5 times on a METV visa and I was never asked for anything. You just need to put an address on the landing card, that’s all.

You won't be asked for anything by passport control comin' into the country on a 6 month METV.

They won't want proof of onward travel, a hotel booking or proof of funds when entering on that visa.

They can ask for those things ANY time you enter, but most people who get asked have extensive histories of living here on back-2-back tourist visas or visa exempt entry stamps.

Usually the first thing they ask for IF they ask for anything is proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in cash when entering the country.

Thank you, Tod! Can you please remind me, when will they ask me for any of the above at passport control for future reference? Is it only when I try to get in on a 30-day stamp without a visa?

I have never been asked. However, the easiest way is to make a cancelable booking through booking.com (or similar) and show them that - they have no way of knowing that it's a 'fake' booking

3. You’ll need an address for the landing card. It can be anywhere and could be just for one night and even then, there is no obligation to stay at that location.
