Yes I realise you are on the same page as me. Your initial post is pretty spot-on. Other posters here are making ludicrous claims that you can stay only 180 days per year, and each time you enter you pay another 10,000 baht. I'll bet these are people who have already paid the 50k for the LTR and are now melting down over this much cheaper alternative

There's no requirement to do an in-country extension. For a frequent traveller such as myself the constant stream of free re-entries will suffice!

Correct. You forgot underline:-

DURATION: 5 YEARS MULTIPLE-ENTRY

VISA FEE: 10,000 THB

Yes 90-day reporting still must be done. I'm in and out of the country constantly so I haven't filed a 90-day since covid. So for me there's the additional bonus of saving 3800 baht per year on a re-entry permit, as the DTV has five years of multiple entries.

Fortunately I have no Thai Driver's Licence, no vehicle registered to me, and have three bank accounts already. It's easy to get a TM30 if you should ever need one, but as there are visits to immigration under DTV, there's no-one else checking them.

The 14k is for five years multi-entry. That's 2800 per annum, with no requirement to transfer 65k each month and no requirement to visit immigration. That's easy enough for me to understand, even with my limited math! 😂

I think for retirees the DTV is way in front of LTR. What are the benefits of LTR over DTV?

I was referring to value for money. DTV is better than LTR. It's only 10,000 baht for five years, the LTR is 50,000 baht for five years

Let's say the best value for money for someone seeking a long term stay - by a long way. Elite is probably better, but compare the prices!

No idea how you think paying 50,000 baht is superior to 14,000 baht, but to each their own I guess! 😂
