I’m doing the exact same next month from Las Vegas to Thailand — 3 large suitcases. Instead of shipping, am flying business class which allows 3 checked suitcases.

Otherwise Thai customs can be a hassle when shipping.

Do elite visa. For the money it costs, you’ll save plus some, compared to the high expenses that come from living in the U.S.

in 5 years switch to retirement visa

Colombia is no Thailand.

Why not consider Mexico over Colombia? Better beaches, better food, good cost of living, and more to offer compared to Colombia.

Keep in mind, Colombia hospitals are overwhelmed and running out of basic supplies — such as oxygen.

@Mat****
, thanks for the info.

Departing Taiwan is odd:

— The STV is very easy and given same day here. This is the one good thing.

— I gathered all my info for the retirement visa but overlooked the health insurance (I did purchase the health COVID insurance). Otherwise I have all required docs.

— arriving from Taiwan the retirement visa is only good for 90 days max (pending extension)

Without the health insurance doc, I walked out of the Taipei Thai embassy with a STV only.
