That’s a truly dreadful exchange rate. Really unfair to people who don’t know better. I ALWAYS take cash and use TT exchange to do my exchanges. I have looked really hard all over Pattaya and they always always give the best exchange rate. If you change up more than £1000 - which isn’t difficult if there’s a couple of you together- ask the cashier to ring up for a better rate. It’s only a bit better but every little bit helps. Cheers
You are very welcome dear lady. Do you intend traveling around Thailand? If so , there’s plenty of advice available and some really good hints too. Let me know if you want advice. Cheers
Just make sure that your phone is unlocked so that it will accept any SIM card. If it’s not, most small independent phone stores( or a Tukcom) will unlock it for you very cheaply and also sell you a card and credit. It’s really easy and you really don’t need to overthink it. Best regards and I wish you a great trip. Mike
Ok. But the pound has strengthened against all currencies not just the Baht. It’s much stronger against the US dollar and the Euro. That’s what I am basing my assumptions on. For sure the Baht May have weakened a little but the Thai government are somewhat reknown for currency manipulation keeping it strong. Good night.
I not sure that’s correct Paul. The Baht seems fairly consistent against other currencies. For sure the GBP has strengthened considerably against other currencies. This has occurred only since the full enactment of Brexit. My conclusion therefore is that the weak position of GBP previously was due to the indecision and it has strengthened as a result of increased confidence now that the situation has become clearer. Of course I may be wrong but I suspect there to be some truth in this. Cheers
