TLDR : Answer Summary
If you're staying near the Bridge in Kanchanaburi for 2-3 days, there are several attractions you should consider visiting. Key highlights include the Erawan Falls for a refreshing swim, the historical Hellfire Pass, and the Commonwealth War Cemetery, which offer a sobering insight into the area's wartime past. Visitors suggest taking the train ride from Kanchanaburi to Thamkrasae for a scenic view and exploring local temples such as Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple). Renting a motorbike is highly recommended for flexibility in exploring the surroundings, with several rental options available in the area.

Take the 3rd class Nam Tok rail to hellfire pass. That was one of the most authentic things I ever did as a backpacker. Do not miss!

It’s the Indiana jones type train that hugs the mountain side and goes through like jungle

Don't forget the Zoo with the Giraffes that love to eat out of your hands, the black panther that jumped from a rope to another 10 feet higher without hesitation and of course the baby tigers that love to fool around with visitors. Renting a motorcycle is not a bad option as it gives you the freedom to go anywhere. Safe travels!

Well done for remembering the Asian labourers. I don't think they have any memorials or cemeteries. They were just taken from their families. " About 60,000 Allied POWs and tens of thousands of civilian workers were forced to provide the labour This led to the deaths of more than 12,000 POWs and about 90,000 civilian workers". Copied from
