it's the technicality, there is no 100% guarantee you will be granted the 30 day extension, before it's granted - although we all know it will in all likelihood be granted. Most people buy refundable tickets 🙂

@Terry *********
it would be again, within 60 days - you have not yet been granted the 30 days extension 🙂

@Mehran *****
not sure who told you they don't ask for proof of accommodation, the Admins often refer to the "3" proofs, not 2
Glen *********
Terry Williams if you are asked for evidence of flights then they would likely ask for ALL the proofs required.

People get asked often, depending on their history etc...if you don't have they can refuse entry, as they do

I am specifically talking about on ENTRY to Thailand as I explained earlier
Glen *********
If you are asked on entry, within 60 days...whether you are asked depends on the mood of the immigration officer and or your history 🙂

You would also need other evidence such as 20,000 baht cash (or equivalent cash in another currency) and accomodation etc

Tina Amer you have to apply for non-o volunteering outside the country...not inside. So once you find an organisation that is prepared to sponsor you, you will need to apply at an Embassy outside the country.
Glen *********
To volunteer you need the organisation to sponsor you, your Non-O (volunteer) visa and work permit (if still required).

You could study Thai language, cooking, boxing etc with student visa...to allow you to stay longer.

Otherwise apply for 6 METV that can give ypu up to 9 months stay if you time it right.

Michael Cantley recent raids in accommodation in Bangkok by immigration looked at whether foreigners had registered their address - so even though they say it's not enforced, you can get caught out later!

Whilst some people will argue any fine is the responsibility of the house owner, in reality the foreigner often ends up paying the fine because immigration won't process 90 day reports, extensions etc until it's paid - and owners regularly refuse to pay!

For nearly 2 years I always lodged TM30 on behalf of owner in Bangkok, and it was accepted no problems.

Anders Guldenskold you are perfectly wrong again!

It was not a friend of a friend, I was the person who witnessed them questioned and being fined - 3 people directly in front of me!

I heard the entire conversations, as I sat less than 1 meter away from the foreigners and IO.
