TLDR : Answer Summary
When you change your address in Thailand, you must notify the local Immigration Office within 24 hours of arrival. While some individuals have reported delayed submissions of the TM28 form without issues, it's advisable to report changes promptly to avoid potential complications. The notification generally needs to be done in person at the Immigration Office, although there are mentions of possible alternatives like local police stations, these may vary by location.

Thank you for your comment also Henry, I get the feeling you are a braver man than me. I am too old to make mistakes and being the chicken shit that I am I shall follow Roberts advice and report to Cheang Wattana.. Good on you also.

Michael Cantley recent raids in accommodation in Bangkok by immigration looked at whether foreigners had registered their address - so even though they say it's not enforced, you can get caught out later!

Whilst some people will argue any fine is the responsibility of the house owner, in reality the foreigner often ends up paying the fine because immigration won't process 90 day reports, extensions etc until it's paid - and owners regularly refuse to pay!

For nearly 2 years I always lodged TM30 on behalf of owner in Bangkok, and it was accepted no problems.

When I moved to a new condo, I didn't send off the TM28 form to Immigration until about 3 months after I had moved in. There was no issue; they just returned the slip.

You change your address within 24 hours after arrival at your local Immigration Office.

good on you buddy. It may not be enforced but I would not like to accumulate any demerit points considering I want to live here permanently. I shall go tomorrow and advise them.
Robert *******
Yes, but it is not enforced in Bangkok, but if you like to submit it is at Cheang Wattana.

thanks for your prompt reply Robert. I have only been in Bangkok a week but intend to apply for retirement visa here. I moved out of hotel and took a lease and moved in yesterday to a condo near On Nut. Would you happen to know the closest local immigration office?
