Why did I receive a Tourist Visa instead of the DTV Workcation Visa in Japan?

It’s probably correct , there has been a handful of other people that have had the same experience, they probably deemed that you didn’t need a 5 year visa.

I’d suggest use the tourist visa, get your documents in order then later re apply from a different embassy when your tourist visa is finished ✅
