it can really vary mate to be honest. It can take a week, it can take two weeks, sometimes longer. They can request additional docs, they might not…

As I’m sure you’ll know by now… nothing is ever straight forward in SE Asia… but you should be fine as long as you meet the req :)

typical with these sorts of countries unfortunately. Lack of real investment in their infrastructure and technology. Their citizens just allow it to be, and yeah - we tourists or visitors, have no choice but to navigate the ridiculousness :) 😂

Sometimes they ask for a wage slip mate & sometimes they don’t. Also try to get a letter from your company with an agreement stating that you’re permitted to work remotely (this helps)

What happens at the automated departure gates for travelers who are on overstay in Thailand?

In the case of an overstay, gates will remain closed and you’ll be directed to an IO. No biggie for overstay really, if few days - but as you said you don’t plan to overstay. Best to keep clear immigration record for future entries etc. 🙏
